As Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig loaded their cats into a Jeep Wrangler Friday morning to reportedly take off for romantic weekend, their scandalous exes, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, were said to be “livid” over the startling news that Shue and Fiebig are dating.
The former “GMA:3” co-hosts were said to be “fuming” because they feared that this news about Shue and Fiebig overshadowed Tuesday’s launch of their eponymous podcast, Page Six reported. Indeed, the news, first reported by Page Six, broke several hours after Robach and Holmes released the first episode of their “Amy and T.J. Podcast.” Page Six quoted one source who said that Robach suspected that her ex, Andrew Shue, the former “Melrose Place” star, may have leaked the news, thinking he “is trying to steal her thunder.”
“She’s convinced he did this to coincide with the debut of her podcast,” the source said.
In their first podcast episode, Robach and Holmes offered their side of the scandal that engulfed both couples in late 2022, which led to the TV personalities losing their “dream jobs” at ABC News. In November 2022, the Daily Mail revealed that Robach and Holmes were having a secret affair — ostensibly while they were still married to Shue and Holmes.
Among other things, Robach and Holmes used their podcast to claim they never “cheated” on their spouses because their workplace friendship didn’t turned romantic until after each had separated from their spouses. They insisted their romance began in August 2022 — after they had begun extricating themselves from their marriages. Holmes had been married to attorney Fiebig for 12 years and they share of 10-year-old daughter; Robach and Shue had been married for 10 years.
However, within hours of Holmes and Robach insisting they were not “adulterers” on their podcast, sources close told Page Six about the Shue and Fiebig romance and offered up a different timeline for when Robach and Holmes started their affair.
A chronology of the Holmes and Robach drama, created by Vulture, also mentioned reports that suggest their affair could have begun in March 2022, or even earlier. Vulture also cited earlier Page Six reports, which said that Fiebig was “blindsided” by the affair, in part because she considered Robach to be a good friend.
On Friday morning, Fiebig and Shue were photographed together in public for the first time since news of their romance broke. The Daily Mail said that they could be seen loading two cats in cat carriers into a Jeep Wrangler, presumably to take off for a weekend trip. They were dressed casually, as they chatted and smiled.

Meanwhile, Holmes and Robach “could barely keep their hands off each other,” when they walked the red carpet at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball 2023 in New York City Friday night, Page Six reported. The couple “got flirty and looked smitten” — and not as if they were bothered by news that Fiebig and Shue were dating.
Page Six reported that Fiebig and Shue began dating about six month ago. They previously knew each other socially through their exes, and reached out to each each when the scandal broke. They initially bonded over the traumatic experience “of being cheated on,” Page Six said.
“It turned into something else, and they’re connected over their values,” a source told Page Six. “They’re not heartbroken and sad,” a source said of the duo. “Everyone has moved on.”
But maybe not everyone has moved on. There still seems to be hard feelings radiating around Holmes and Robach, especially as the couple seemed intent to present themselves as sympathetic protagonists in a story about the triumph of love against great odds. On their podcast, Holmes described himself and Robach as “the folks who who lost the jobs we love because we love each other,” while Robach thanked all the people in their lives who “suspended judgement.”
Now, Holmes and Robach will need “to address the story (about their exes dating) because they will still want to keep themselves in the news,” a source told Page Six.
“They must be so angry! (The news) stomped all over their big podcast debut,” added an industry insider who knows Holmes and Robach. Meanwhile, yet another source expressed doubt that Shue would have leaked the story. “Andrew doesn’t steal the spotlight,” they said. “He’s so private. That’s not who he is.”
Meanwhile, other sources told Page Six that some of Robach’s friends are turned off by the podcast and her “narcissistic behavior.”
“The self-importance and the fascination with themselves and thinking everyone is (rooting for them)… it’s just tone-deaf,” a source said.

In their podcast, Robach and Holmes notably sidestepped reports that Holmes allegedly had extramarital affairs with three other female colleagues at ABC after he began working at the network in 2014 and while he was married to Fiebig. One of those women was a married “Good Morning America” producer, and the affair lasted three years. The others were women in their 20s who held positions at ABC that were subordinate to Holmes — situations that should have raised concerns at the network about his workplace conduct, especially in a post-#MeToo era.
One woman was a 24-year-old intern who looked up to Holmes as a mentor, the Daily Mail reported. A source, who knew the intern well at the time, told the Daily Mail that Holmes “was a predator who took full advantage of his position, and he was reckless.” The experience left the young woman “feeling uncomfortable and used.”
During the podcast, Holmes briefly alluded to some personal “troubles” in recent years and how Robach helped him get through those dark times. But he said that discussions about those troubles, when he admitted he was in “bad shape,” would have to wait “for another episode.”
