San Jose: Man arrested in assault death of girlfriend’s father at Willow Glen home

SAN JOSE — A man has been arrested again over the alleged assault last month of his girlfriend’s father in Willow Glen, after the victim recently died from his injuries, according to San Jose police.

The inciting incident was reported around 12:45 p.m. on Nov. 13 after police were called to a home on Lester Avenue for a report of a family disturbance. Responding officers found an unconscious man and determined that he had been assaulted by 33-year-old Nikolas Anderson, who was dating his daughter.

Anderson was arrested at the time and booked on suspicion of assault — but was never criminally charged.

The injured man was taken to a hospital and was initially stabilized, police said.

However, on Dec. 7, the victim died from his injuries, police said. His identity was not formally released Monday by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

The same day, police obtained an arrest warrant for Anderson, who was no longer in jail custody, and arrested him in connection with the death. Anderson was being held without bail Monday in the Main Jail in San Jose, according to jail records. He has a tentative arraignment scheduled for Tuesday.

The death marked the 32nd homicide of the year investigated by San Jose police.
