Enzo Rosano’s Italian restaurants with the picture-postcard names dot the Bay Area. There’s Locanda Positano in Lafayette, Locanda Ravello in Danville, Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton and Locanda Sorrento in Campbell
And now he pays tribute to the home of Grotta Azzurra, the Blue Grotto.
His newest, Locanda Capri, opened Wednesday in Brentwood in a space remodeled to highlight the azure of that wondrous cave.

One of nine siblings, Rosano grew up cooking with his mother in a town just outside Naples. He attended the Scuola Alberghiera Culinary and Hospitality program, then landed a job as bartender at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Vong’s in London. He eventually came to the Bay Area, where he helped open Mezza Luna in Half Moon Bay.
This menu features recipes for Mamma Carmela’s Lasagna, Meatballs and Eggplant Parmesan, Enzo’s Favorite Branzino, along with other pasta and seafood dishes, flatbreads, appetizers and salads. The namesake Linguini Capri is cauliflower-based pasta with zucchini, eggplant and bell pepper in a vodka sauce.
His first Locanda — Locanda Positano — operated on San Carlos’ restaurant row. He opened Locanda Ravello in Danville in 2015 and, in 2017, relocated Positano to Lafayette. In 2020, Locanda Amalfi opened in Pleasanton. In 2021 in downtown Campbell, his Locanda Sorrento took over space previously occupied by another Italian restaurant.
