The fire started about 2:52 a.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of Partridge Avenue, according to Oakland fire spokesman Michael Hunt.

The woman, who lived alone, was pronounced dead in her home from burns and smoke inhalation. Hunt said the fire was accidental in nature and was caused by a wall furnace.
