Teen shot in Oakland attempted robbery

OAKLAND — A 16 year-old boy who told police he was shot Tuesday night during an attempted robbery in East Oakland was in stable condition Wednesday, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of International Boulevard in the Rancho San Antonio neighborhood.

Suspect identified in killing of Oakland police officer during brazen dispensary burglary

The youth, an Oakland resident, told police he was standing outside a business when he was approached by thee males who attempted to rob him. He told police that when he would not comply, one of the three suspects shot him in the leg.

The trio fled before police got to the scene. Detailed descriptions of them were not released.

The youth was taken to a hospital.
