The violent attack happened about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday on 40th Street near Clarke Street.

Police said the woman was walking alone when a car stopped and two males, possibly teenagers, got out. They confronted the woman, pushed her to the ground and began kicking her repeatedly in the head while pulling at her purse, police said.

The robbers ended up taking the purse, the woman’s iPhone and a shopping bag, got back in the vehicle driven by a third suspect, and drove away westbound on 40th Street, authorities said.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
