HERCULES – An investigation is underway into the death of a man whose body was found early Thursday morning in Hercules, police said.

Stockton woman killed at Oakland sideshow is identified

Officers were called to the 600 block of Alfred Nobel Drive around 5:45 a.m. for a report of a man down with no detectable pulse, according to the Hercules Police Department.

The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, was found lying in a dirt area next to the sidewalk on the east side of the street, police said in a news release.

There were no obvious signs of trauma, but the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death, according to police. An autopsy and coroner’s report are pending.
