DALY CITY — A crash on Interstate 280 in Daly City on Monday morning left two men dead, including one that was driving on the wrong side of the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One of the men, 53, was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound on the southbound lanes when he collided with a Toyota Previa being driven by a 33-year-old man. The crash took place around 2:42 a.m. just south of John Daly Boulevard, according to CHP public information officer Mark Andrews.
The 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The 33-year-old was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office was unable to publicly identify the two men as of Monday morning.

The crash forced the closure of two lanes for about two hours, Andrews said. There was no word on whether drugs or alcohol was suspected as of Monday morning.
