Shooting victim found in West Oakland dies in hospital

OAKLAND — A man found with at least one gunshot wound in West Oakland on Monday night was later pronounced dead at a hospital, according to police.

The man, a 31-year-old Oakland resident, was found just after 7 p.m. Monday on the 1900 block of 18th Avenue, near San Antonio Park. Police believe the shooting may have happened elsewhere, and the victim transported himself to that location.

No other details were immediately made available, including the name of the man. No arrests have been made in connection to the fatal shooting, police said.
