PACIFICA — Two teenagers were assaulted and robbed at gunpoint Tuesday in Pacifica, police said.

The incident happened around 4:50 p.m. in the east parking lot of the Linda Mar Shopping Center, located along Highway 1, according to the Pacifica Police Department.

Police said the suspects held the male victims at gunpoint, physically assaulted them and robbed one of a backpack. The suspects then left the shopping center in a vehicle.

One victim was taken to a hospital as a precaution, according to police. The other victim was released to his parents and planned to seek medical attention on his own.

An investigation is underway into the incident.

Police on Friday did not announce any arrests or release a description of the suspects.
