The younger Purdy also was extended scholarship offers from Cal and North Texas State, according to his “X” feed. He backed up Brock for two seasons at Perry High in Gilbert, Arizona. As a junior, Chubba Purdy passed for 3,425 yards and 36 touchdowns and rushed for 1,152 yards and 23 touchdowns. He finished with 45,423 yards total offense and 52 touchdowns as a senior.

At 6-foot-2, 217 pounds, Chubba Purdy was recruited more heavily than his brother out of high school. He initially committed to Louisville before flipping to Florida State.
