SAN JOSE — A woman died early Morning after a vehicle struck her in South San Jose, resulting in the city’s first fatal traffic collision of the year, according to authorities.
Police said the crash was reported at 1:54 a.m. in the area of Skyway Drive and Monterey Road. The woman, who was yet to be identified as of Monday morning, was a pedestrian. She was transported to a hospital following the crash where she later died.
As of 5:20 a.m. no further details were immediately made available surrounding the collision.
Units are currently in the area of Skyway Dr and Monterey Rd for a major injury vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The adult female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.
