SAN MATEO — A person died Thursday after being hit by a Caltrain in San Mateo, according to the commuter rail line.
The collision occurred at 11:33 a.m. when a northbound train struck a person near the Hayward Park station. According to Caltrain, emergency personnel arrived at the scene and trains were single-tracking through the scene as of noon.
