San Ramon Valley basketball player Avery Knapp is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Jan. 8-13.
In online voting, Knapp finished with 34.16% of the votes. American soccer player Abby Peterman (29.03%) was second.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Knapp, a senior, scored a career-high 27 points in San Ramon Valley’s 72-30 victory over California. She also had 17 points in a victory over Pinewood.
