It happened Wednesday evening at an unspecified time, according to a Concord police statement on social media that had few details.

According to police, the robbery at the motel happened in the 4600 block of Clayton Road, and the suspect fled in a car. They had no information on how the robbery happened or whether the suspect was injured.

Police put out a description of the suspect and car and said officers spotted the car at an undisclosed location.

The car fled when officers tried to pull it over, police said, adding that shortly thereafter, residents on Walters Way called to report a one-car crash into a type of wall. Police did not say what kind of wall it was.

According to police, the suspect in the robbery was in the car and ran from the scene. Police surrounded the area and closed all ways out of the neighborhood and said a police dog found the suspect in a garbage enclosure.

Police did not identify the man. His custody status was not clear Friday.
