PALO ALTO – A Caltrain hit an unoccupied vehicle Tuesday afternoon in south Palo Alto, according to the commuter rail line.

No injuries were reported, Caltrain spokesperson Randol White said.
The collision happened around 3:10 p.m. at the Charleston Road crossing, White said.
The vehicle was no longer on the tracks as of 3:45 p.m., he said. Caltrain received clearance to run trains through the area at reduced speeds of 15 mph.
The Charleston Road crossing was closed for an investigation following the collision, according to the Palo Alto Police Department. It was reopened by 4:20 p.m.
