Jonathan Ojeda, 30, crashed the UTV while on muddy terrain near Wolcott Lane and Franklin Canyon Road about 11:10 a.m. The two passengers with him were uninjured.

According to California Highway Patrol spokesperson Officer Adam Lane, the terrain on which Ojeda was driving was “muddy as hell.” Lane said Ojeda lost control of the UTV as he came around a bin.

The UTV rolled over, hit a fence and landed on Ojeda, Lane said.

Ojeda’s family is asking for donations to help support the family’s funeral and other expenses through an online fundraiser. It was seeking $30,000 and had collected $10,310 in donations before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
