OAKLAND — A 57-year-old man was shot multiple times Sunday night in East Oakland, authorities said.
The man was in critical but stable condition Monday, authorities said. Police have not confirmed an address for him.
The shooting happened about 9:53 p.m. Sunday in the 8500 block of Holly Street, a primarily residential area..

Officers responding to a gunshot detection system alert found the man unresponsive in the middle of the street with multiple gunshot wounds to the lower part of his body. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
