Saratoga hotel guests arrested for defrauding an innkeeper

Grand theft: Between 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 27 and 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 29, two suspects were given access to a residence in the 18000 block of Vessing Road and stole cash and a cellular phone charger for a loss valued at $2,000.

Jan. 31

Theft by false pretenses: a Saratoga resident reported that someone telephoned them acting as representatives with their investment company and ultimately convinced the victim to transfer money to an unknown account for a total loss of approximately $3,000.

Defrauding an innkeeper; identity theft; possession of burglary tools, controlled substance and drug paraphernalia: At 4:02 p.m., deputies responded to a fraud call at the Inn at Saratoga on Fourth Street. An investigation revealed two suspects reserved a hotel room using credit card information not belonging to either of them and owed the hotel approximately $1,008. A search of the room revealed the suspects were also in possession of burglary tools, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, stolen mail and notebooks containing personal information not belonging to either suspect. The suspects were located after returning to the hotel the following morning. Both were arrested and booked into main jail.

Battery: At 9:34 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at McDonald’s on Prospect Road. An investigation revealed three suspects hit the victim in the head.
