The stabbing was reported around 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of University Avenue and Bell Street, East Palo Alto police Cmdr. David Santos said in a news release. Officers arrived to find a pair of male victims suffering from stab wounds.

Santos said one of the victims was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and remained in critical condition Friday. The other victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The suspect left the scene after the stabbing and has not been identified, Santos said. He had a mustache and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, according to the victims.

Police did not release a possible motive for the stabbing.
