San Jose: Pedestrian killed by driver in city’s eighth traffic fatality of the year

SAN JOSE — An adult female pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Shortly after 2 p.m., the San Jose Police Department arrived on scene in the area of Saratoga Avenue and Belvedere Drive. Police proceeded to close two lanes of southbound Saratoga from Blackford Avenue to Belvedere Drive.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she died. No other information was available Saturday evening.

It was San Jose’s eighth traffic fatality of 2024.
