SAN LORENZO — A 19-year-old woman died Monday afternoon after she was hit by an Amtrak train, authorities said.
She was identified by the county coroner’s bureau on Tuesday as Savanna Trigo of Hayward.
The fatality happened about 2:20 p.m. Monday near the West Blossom Way crossing.
Authorities said Trigo was on the tracks when she was hit by an Amtrak Capitol Corridor train heading to San Jose from Sacramento. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
None of the 69 passengers and crew members on board the train were hurt.
The train was delayed for a few hours while authorities investigated.
The fatality is the second death in two days of a person being hit by a train in southern Alameda County.
On Sunday afternoon, a 26-year-old San Jose man who was on the railroad tracks died after he was struck by an Amtrak Coast Starlight train near Haley Street in Newark.
