The victim, a woman in her 20s, told police she was sexually assaulted on Nov. 10 at Massage Envy, located at 4335 El Camino Real, the Palo Alto Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

Detectives identified the suspect as Arturo Gomez, 42, of San Jose, and submitted the case to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office for review, police said.

Prosecutors in turn filed one felony count of sexual penetration and one count of sexual assault against Gomez.

A warrant was issued for Gomez’s arrest, and on Feb. 8, officers took him into custody at the home of one of his relatives in the 400 block of Washington Street in San Jose.

Massage Envy worked with investigators and fired Gomez as soon as they learned about the alleged sexual assault, police said.

During their investigation, detectives learned Gomez had worked for other South Bay massage establishments, but they were not aware of any other victims, police said.
