Person fatally struck by Caltrain in Palo Alto

A person was struck and killed by a Caltrain in Palo Alto on Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for the transit agency.

The collision occurred between the California Avenue and San Antonio stations and involved southbound train No. 114, which was going from San Francisco to San Jose, Caltrain spokesperson Randol White said.

The fatality was confirmed at 11:55 a.m. No injuries were reported among the 52 passengers aboard the train, White said.

Trains were initially stopped through the area of the collision but were cleared to move through at reduced speeds as of shortly after 12:20 p.m. All trains are boarding on the southbound platforms at the Palo Alto and California Avenue stations until further notice, according to White.
