OAKLAND — A 60-year-old East Oakland woman was robbed and carjacked at gunpoint Monday evening, authorities said.
The robbery happened about 6:20 p.m. Monday in the 2800 block of 11th Avenue, a primarily residential area.
Police said the woman was loading some items into her red 2013 Buick Encore, a subcompact SUV, when two male suspects approached her from behind and forcibly took her purse and cell phone from her hands.
One of the suspects then pulled a handgun from his waistband, prompting the woman to run off screaming, authorities said. She was not physically injured.
The suspects fled in the vehicle, which still had not been recovered as of midday Tuesday.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not available.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrests of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3326 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
