SAN JOSE — Police responding to a report of a fight at a San Jose business early Monday afternoon found an unconscious man who was not breathing, the San Jose Police Department said Tuesday.
Officers and medical personnel attempted to revive the man, a San Jose resident, but he was pronounced dead at the business located in the 1000 block of Leigh Avenue.
Police later arrested a suspect, identified as 32-year-old Leonardo Soulett of San Jose, who authorities say allegedly assaulted the victim.

Police withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Investigators are looking into the circumstances that led to his death.
The killing was San Jose’s 8th homicide this year.
San Jose saw two other killings over the past weekend. On Saturday night, police responding to a call found a dead woman in a home in the 2300 block of Arden Way. Police said they suspected her boyfriend killed her and fled in a car. He was later killed in a crash, authorities said.
On Sunday just before 9 p.m., police responded to a parking lot for a business in the 3000 block of Story Road after a report of gunfire. There, officers found two people had been shot at a gathering. A man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police discovered later that another woman had been dropped off at a hospital with at least one gunshot wound.
