OAKLAND — An Oakland man has been charged with murder and domestic violence for allegedly beating his 24-year-old girlfriend to death, court records show.
Zoe Reidy-Watts, of Oakland, reportedly suffered multiple rib fractures, a lacerated liver and visible bruises all over her body, including her neck, police say. Her body was found March 1, in the downtown Oakland apartment on the 100 block of 15th Street where she and her boyfriend lived, police say.
Victor Frieson III, 27, has been charged with murder and causing corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, records show. He remains at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on a no-bail hold.
Police say Frieson is a registered sex offender, and has 2020 conviction for causing “serious bodily injury” during a battery. In an interview with police, he reportedly denied hurting Reidy-Watts but also gave “multiple” versions of what happened, police said in court records.
Police say Reidy-Watts had also recently accused Frieson of domestic violence and sexual assault.
