GILROY — A man was found dead at the scene of an RV fire Thursday morning in Gilroy, according to police.

The blaze was reported around 6:30 a.m. in an alleyway in the 7200 block of Rosanna Street, the Gilroy Police Department said in a news release. Officers arrived to find an RV and an adjacent structure engulfed in flames at the rear of a residence.
Nearby residents were evacuated as a safety precaution while Gilroy firefighters extinguished the fire.
Detectives discovered the remains of a man inside the RV, according to police. His identity has not been confirmed.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
