2 East Bay shoplifting suspects found in possession of guns, drugs

A report of two suspicious people in Marin City led to the arrest of a convicted felon who allegedly possessed loaded guns and illegal drugs, the sheriff’s department said.

Suspected trespasser injured in Hayward house arson fire

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, when sheriff’s deputies detained a suspected shoplifter at the Target store while her male companion attempted to drive away, sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Schermerhorn reported. The man allegedly threw two guns out of his car before authorities detained him. Schermerhorn reported that deputies recovered two loaded handguns.

Jesse Martinez, 38, of Antioch was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, methamphetamine possession and evading officers. Lucy Tompkin, 24, of Oakland was arrested on suspicion of fentanyl possession and for arrest warrants from Placer and San Mateo counties.
