OAKLAND — A 28-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday night inside a motel room, authorities said.
The man’s name has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
The man was found dead from at least one gunshot wound about 11:13 p.m. Thursday inside a room at the Nights Inn, 874 West MacArthur Blvd., authorities said.

Police said they were told the man had been staying at the motel about a week.
Whoever shot the man fled before police got to the scene.
A motive for the killing has not been established yet, police said. No suspect information has been released.
The killing is the 17th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 24 homicides in the city.
