Vandalism: At 9:28 a.m., deputies responded to a vandalism call at Prospect High School on Prospect Road. An investigation revealed three juvenile suspects climbed onto the roofs of multiple buildings and broke skylights. The total amount of damage was estimated at $4,100. One of the suspects was identified as a student at the school.
March 12
Check fraud, forgery: An employee who acted as treasurer and wrote business checks on behalf of a charitable organization in Saratoga discovered that someone obtained the organization’s checks, then altered them and forged the victim’s signature for a loss of about $14,820.
March 13
Petty theft: Between 6:15 p.m. on March 12 and 8 a.m. on March 13, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 20000 block of Sevilla Lane and stole tools for a total loss valued at $250.
March 15
Theft by false pretenses: Someone contacted a Saratoga resident through an online community forum, acted as a known associate and ultimately convinced the victim to provide money via gift cards and wire transfers for a total loss of about $188,176.
Petty theft, theft by debit card: Between 11:50 a.m. and 2:17 p.m., someone stole a debit card from a wallet left inside an unlocked vehicle in the 13000 block of Kevin Street. The suspect(s) then used the debit card to make fraudulent purchases totaling approximately $270.

Vehicle burglary: Between Feb. 29 and March 17, someone entered a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 20000 block of Russell Lane and stole a GPS device, loose change, a key and the owner’s manual and vehicle registration for a loss valued at $590.
Assault and battery, resisting arrest by means of violence: At 8:08 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at Bella Saratoga restaurant on Big Basin Way on a report of two people fighting. An investigation revealed that a patron acted belligerent inside the restaurant, was asked to leave and became combative with staff, punching and biting an employee. The suspect used force to resist deputies but was ultimately arrested.
