OAKLAND — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in East Oakland Sunday night, authorities said.
His name has not yet been released.
The shooting happened about 9 p.m. Sunday outside in the 9600 block of Edes Avenue.

The boy was found by officers with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Investigators have not announced any arrests.
The killing is the 25th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 29 homicides in the city.
