Shoplifter at Campbell store hits victim with skateboard

April 22

BATTERY WITH SERIOUS BODILY INJURY: 2:15 p.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue. During an argument, the suspect punched the victim in the stomach two times and fled the scene.

TRESPASS: 8:23 a.m. in the 600 block of Marathon Drive. A woman who believed she lived at an apartment complex refused to leave.

POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA, NARCOTIC: 7:57 a.m. in the 1300 block of Camden Avenue. A woman was on private property and started a fire. She was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and drug opioids.

PETTY THEFT: 11:09 p.m. in the 400 block of West Sunnyoaks Avenue. Two suspects stole three plants worth about $150 each.

INTENT TO DEFRAUD: Noon in the 00 block of East Campbell Avenue. Someone altered a business check fraudulently for $1,100.

April 23

PETTY THEFT, VANDALISM: in the 3400 block of South Bascom Avenue. Sometime overnight, an someone damaged the underside of a vehicle, then cut the hose to the gas tank and siphoned gas.

VANDALISM: 9:15 a.m. in the 100 block of East Campbell Avenue. A woman hit and damaged the back door, causing $800 worth of damage.

DUI: 10:57 p.m. at San Tomas Expressway and Highway 17. A man was involved in a two-vehicle rollover accident. He displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was found to be DUI.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 9:02 p.m. in the 1800 block of Souths Bascom Avenue. Two women were involved in a disturbance and found to be too intoxicated to care for themselves in public.

BURGLARY: 8:47 p.m. in the 1700 block of Winchester Boulevard. Two suspects broke the windows to two vehicles and stole a wallet from one vehicle.

BURGLARY: 3:35 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. A man cut the blinds that enclosed an apartment’s exterior patio, causing $75 in damage. He stole fishing rods valued at $75.

April 24

VANDALISM: 11 a.m. in the 3400 block of South Bascom Avenue. The victim asked a transient man to leave the area. He left the scene but keyed the front and rear driver side door to victim’s vehicle.

April 25

BURGLARY: 12:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Budd Avenue. Someone entered an unlocked apartment and stole four guitars worth $26,067.

April 26

GRAND THEFT: 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Union Avenue. Tires were stolen.

ROBBERY, ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: 6:19 p.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. The victim confronted the suspect while the suspect was shoplifting. The suspect struck the victim with a skateboard, causing minor injury, then fled the store with stolen items.

April 27

PETTY THEFT, VANDALISM: 9:52 p.m. in the 900 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A man was stopped for a vehicle code violation. He fled across traffic lanes and was detained after a brief foot pursuit. He was in possession of items determined to be recently stolen from a store. While at jail, he slipped his handcuffs to the front and damaged the rear-facing camera equipment in the patrol car.

VANDALISM: 4 p.m. in the 1800 block of Ensenada Drive. Someone slashed two tires on a 2011 Hyundai Sonata parked in the driveway.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, CONCEALED WEAPON: 1:41 a.m. in the 300 block of Budd Avenue. Two suspects were contacted after the report of a physical fight.
