Hillsdale softball player Claire Shelton is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week or April 29 to May 4.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Shelton finished with 48.91% of the votes. Santa Teresa softball player Haley Saole placed second at 29.04%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Shelton, a senior infielder, was 6 for 10 with three doubles during the week. She also knocked in four runs, which padded her league-leading total to 37.
