Grand theft: At 7:57 a.m., two unknown suspects stole construction equipment from the front yard of a residence in the 13000 block of Glen Brae Drive for a total loss of about $4,200.

Vandalism: Someone cut a lock to a storage unit at the Gatehouse residential complex on Fourth Street. The total amount of damage was estimated at approximately $25.

Identity theft: Saratoga residents reported that someone used their personal information and attempted to open a bank account, file tax returns and obtain employment but were unsuccessful. No financial loss was reported.

Battery on school property: At 2:57 p.m., deputies responded to a call from school officials at Prospect High School on Prospect Road reporting a fight between students. An investigation revealed that one student assaulted another during lunch break and hit the victim in the head multiple times. The suspect was cited and released.

April 30

Vandalism: Someone scratched the paint of a vehicle parked in the 15000 block of Pepper Lane. The total amount of damage was not reported.

Forgery: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used an altered check, forged with the victim’s bank account information and withdrew money from the victim’s account for a total loss of about $6,575.

May 1

Forgery: A Saratoga resident reported that someone obtained a check placed in outgoing mail at the US Post Office on Allendale Avenue, and then altered and cashed the check for a total loss of about $1,989.

Petty theft, theft by credit card: Between 11:50 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., someone stole credit cards from an unlocked vehicle parked at the Saratoga Country Club on Prospect Road. The suspect(s) then used the credit cards to make fraudulent purchases totaling approximately $3,287.

May 5

Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia: At 3:07 a.m., deputies a motorist at Saratoga and Herriman avenues for equipment violations. An investigation revealed the suspect driver was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was cited and released.
