OAKLAND — Two men were shot multiple times Monday night and Tuesday morning in different areas of the city — one inside a motel room and the other while he was walking, authorities said.
Both victims, one 18 and the other 25, were in stable condition Tuesday at a hospital, authorities said.
The 18-year-old was shot just before 10 p.m. Monday in a room at the Nights Inn, 874 West MacArthur Blvd.
Initial reports were that the victim had gone to the motel to meet some people; once inside a room, he was shot multiple times, authorities said.
The occupants of the room fled before police got to the scene.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No suspect information was released and no arrests were announced.
The motel was the scene of a fatal shooting March 21 where a 28-year-old man was killed in a room. A suspect was later arrested and charged in that case.
Authorities said the homicide is not related to the Monday night shooting.
