Gisele Bundchen blames Tom Brady’s roast for problems with new boyfriend: report

Gisele Bundchen’s hot-and-heavy relationship with jiu jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente is reportedly “fizzling” out, with a report saying that Tom Brady’s infamous roast put a serious strain on their romance.

Bundchen, 43, was last seen with the workout trainer about two months ago, signaling that she’s single again, according to a report from InTouch Weekly. The supermodel and the 34-year-old Valente had been inseparable in Florida earlier this year, when they were seen heading to his workout studio together or holding hands on dinner dates.

But the highly public nature of their romance put a strain on it, especially after the two were the subject of jokes at the live-streamed Netflix roast last month for her Brady.

The retired NFL star was the guest of honor during Netflix’s special, “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady” on May 5. During the event, Brady endured several hours of savagely humorous commentary about his on- and off-field career from celebrity friends and former teammates, including Ben Affleck, Kevin Hart, Rob Gronkowski, Nikki Glaser and Julian Edelman, People reported.

Comedians Hart and Glaser specifically teased Brady about Bündchen’s new boyfriend, People and the Daily Mail reported.

Glaser made a crude joke about how Bundchen’s new boyfriend could use his martial arts skills to defeat the seven-time Super Bowl champion  in a fight while performing a sexual act on her, the Daily Mail reported. Glaser’s other jabs included: “Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying ‘yes’ to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.’”

There had been speculation that Bundchen began her romance with Valente while she was still married to Brady, but the model pushed back against that assumption in a March interview with the New York Times.  “That is a lie,” Bundchen said.

But Glaser still teased Brady more generally about his 2022 divorce from Bundchen, saying, “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.”

Bundchen was reportedly upset about the “disparaging” jokes at her expense, with a source telling People that the model was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show.”

Brady, who reportedly lacked full knowledge of which jokes would be aired during the special, subsequently apologized to his ex-wife, according to a report from Us Weekly.

“Gisele and Tom had a ‘no disparaging remarks’ rule when it came to speaking about each other or their marriage and divorce,” Us Weekly reported. “She (was) definitely offended and upset about the comments made at the roast. … She thinks her new relationship should have been off-limits. (But) Tom did reach out to Gisele to apologize to her. They are cordial and only communicate about the kids.”

But Brady’s reported apology came too late for Valente, In Touch Weekly reported.

“The spotlight was too much for him,” the source also said. “Joaquim’s a regular guy. He’s not used to all the attention he was getting.”

Tom Brady’s roast certainly didn’t help matters, either, In Touch reported. “Joaquim became part of the joke,” a source told the publication. “People actually started asking him if he was the reason for their divorce. He hated that.”

Bundchen reportedly thinks that her romance with Valente would have been on firmer ground if Brady had not done the roast, according to In Touch. “By agreeing to do the roast, (Brady) basically put a target on Joaquim’s back,” a source said.
