Oakland man charged with selling cocaine and pot after investigation spanning ‘several months’

OAKLAND — Alameda County prosecutors have charged a man with selling cocaine and marijuana while armed after a raid last month on an East Oakland home.

The 24-year-old defendant was charged with four felonies after an investigation that police say spanned “several months.” The end result was a May 15 police raid at a home on the 1900 block of 83rd Avenue.

Police say they found a firearm, roughly $16,000 in cash, five-and-a-half pounds of cocaine, some capsules of suspected MDMA and an estimated 15-20 pounds of marijuana during the search. The man and two family members were detained.

The man pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance at his first court hearing, records show.
