New York bartender says Justin Timberlake had 1 drink before DWI arrest

Justin Timberlake really did just have a single drink at the Hamptons hotel where he was reportedly partying prior to his DWI arrest last week.

The “Selfish” singer, 43, consumed just one martini — as he claimed to authorities — at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor, a bartender there confirmed to People this weekend.

“If he was drinking more, it wasn’t here,” said another employee.

Timberlake, who is in the middle of his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” was arrested in the early hours of June 18 and told authorities he “had one martini, and I followed my friends home.” Timberlake was arraigned later that morning on a single DWI charge.

The NSYNC alum has a court appearance scheduled for July 26 — the same day he’s slated to perform the first of two consecutive shows in Kraków, Poland. No word yet on how or whether the court appearance will affect that performance. At the time of publication, it is still listed on the tour site.

Timberlake, who will perform at Madison Square Garden Tuesday and Wednesday, broke his silence on the “tough week” while performing at Chicago’s United Center Friday.

“We’ve been together through ups and downs, and lefts and rights. And it’s been a tough week,” said Timberlake. “But you’re here. And I’m here. And nothing can change this moment right now.”

The “Cry Me A River” singer added that he’s “sometimes … hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I love you right back.” The crowd cheered as he thanked them.

The remarks followed those of an insider, who told Entertainment Tonight that Timberlake felt “remorseful, ashamed, and humiliated” following the arrest.

His attorney, Edward Burke, told the Daily News last week that he “will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the district attorney’s office.”
