Firefighters are battling a 100-acre vegetation fire that started Wednesday afternoon in Brentwood, officials said.
Cal Fire was dispatched at 3:20 p.m. to the area of Empire Mine Road and Deer Valley Road, where the fire was initially reported to have burned 50 acres, according to Cal Fire.
Crews from Contra Costa Fire were on scene of the same fire closer to the city’s border with Antioch.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, Burkett said.
