Man in RV fatally shot in Oakland

OAKLAND — A 52-year-old man was fatally shot inside his parked RV early Monday near the Oakland Coliseum, authorities said.

The man’s name has not yet been released pending notification of his family.

The shooting happened about 12:38 a.m. in the 8400 block of Enterprise Way.

The man was found shot multiple times inside the parked RV he apparently was living in, authorities said.

He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:17 a.m., authorities said.

Police are still trying to determine a motive for the killing. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.

The killing is the 48th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year and the second in the same area since Saturday night.  Just after 7 p.m. Saturday a 26-year-old man was found fatally shot in the  8000 block of Edes Avenue, a short distance from Monday’s killing.  Police said there is no evidence so far the two killings are related. Last year at this time police had investigated 52 homicides in the city.
