SAN JOSE — Police here have arrested a man on suspicion of attempting to exploit a woman for commercial sex trafficking, authorities said Friday.

The 42-year-old Seattle man met “a person he believed to be an adult female,” arranged to meet her in person and traveled to California, San Jose police said.
Police opened a pimping and pandering investigation and arrested the man when he arrived in San Jose on July 8.
He was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on commercial sex trafficking related offenses, police said.
Detectives from the SJPD’s Human Trafficking Task Force investigated the case and the Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit, METRO Unit and VCET Unit assisted in arresting the man.
