The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Ygnacio Valley Road between Civic Center and Broadway, according to authorities. Ygnacio Valley Road allowed commuters to go from central Contra Costa County to eastern Contra Costa County.

A small power outage to an unknown amount of people also resulted from the wreck, but PG&E’s outage map indicated there were no outages in the city at 6 a.m.
