Menlo School flag football player Ava Allen is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Aug. 26-31.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Allen had 27.93% of the vote to finish ahead of Leigh field hockey player Abby Michaelsen and Fremont-Sunnyvale volleyball player McKayla Hsu.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Allen, a sophomore quarterback/defensive back, threw for 85 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a TD. She also had a pick-six in Menlo’s 34-6 win over Aragon.
