Fremont police are investigating a homicide that left one man dead Thursday night, according to a department news release.

Detectives and officers are following leads to find the suspect in this active investigation, police said. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
Officers are asking people to stay out of the area of Grimmer Boulevard between Fremont Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway.
Around 4:40 p.m., police received several calls about shots fired in the 40400 block of Grimmer Boulevard. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an injured man down on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not disclose the victim’s identity pending notification of their next of kin by the coroner’s office.
