San Jose: Police release video seeking hit-and-run driver

SAN JOSE — Police have released surveillance footage while seeking public help with identifying an SUV driver who hit and seriously injured a pedestrian near downtown last month.

The collision was reported around 6:50 p.m. Oct. 18 when the driver of a black SUV turned left from East Julian Street onto northbound North 11th Street and hit a woman walking in the crosswalk.

The driver fled the scene; the woman was taken to a hospital with major injuries, but she later reached stable condition, police said.

Police described the involved vehicle as a small black SUV resembling a Ford Escape made between 2013 and 2019.
