Community members and an alumni page at the University of Michigan identified the woman as 37-year-old Julia Elkin. She died Sunday, according to police.
The collision happened Feb. 12 about 1:30 p.m. at Marin Avenue and Oxford Street. According to Berkeley police spokesperson Officer Jessica Perry, the driver of an unspecified vehicle was going west on Marin Avenue and stopped at a stop sign at Oxford Street.
As the driver went through the intersection, the vehicle hit Elkin as she ran on the west side of the intersection.
Perry said police have not determined why the crash happened.
