Residential burglaries reported in Saratoga

Feb. 27

Vehicle burglary: At 2:30 p.m., someone entered the enclosed bed of a truck parked at Safeway in the Argonaut Shopping Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road and stole tools valued at approximately $2,149.

Feb. 28

Possession of a controlled substance: At 10:48 a.m., deputies responded to a narcotics call at The Villas at Saratoga on Saratoga-Los Gatos Road. An investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was cited and released.

Residential burglary: At 8 p.m., three suspects entered a residence in the 13000 block of Howen Drive through an unlocked garage side door. The house was searched, but details of any stolen property weren’t available.

March 1

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone stole their Social Security number and banking information after acting as an employee with a computer security software company. No financial loss was reported.

Petty theft: Between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 20000 block of Wardell Road and stole a backpack, keys and a wallet for a loss valued at approximately $380.

March 3

Residential burglary: Between 5 a.m. on March 1 and 11:26 p.m. on March 3, someone entered a residence in the 19000 block of Spring Brook Lane by breaking a rear glass door. The house was searched, but details of any stolen property were not available.
