Two men wounded in Oakland shootings

OAKLAND — Two men were shot, one multiple times, about five hours apart early Thursday in different areas of the city, authorities said.

Both men were in stable condition at a hospital.

Police said the shootings are not related.

About 5:46 a.m. Thursday a 55-year-old Walnut Creek man was shot in the neck in the 2000 block of Campbell Street in West Oakland, authorities said.

Authorities said the man works in the area and initial reports were that he got into an argument with another person driving a truck who ended up shooting him  Police have not yet confirmed what the argument was about.

The wounded man was able to call police who responded to the scene along with paramedics.  The suspect fled before officers got to the scene.

The other shooting happened about 12:49 a.m. in the 1600 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland.

Man fatally shot in East Oakland

Police responding to a gunshot detection system alert found a 44-year-old man who had been shot at least twice.

The man told police he was shot by another man he had gotten into an argument with.  Police have not yet confirmed what the argument was about. The suspect is being sought.
