Bay Area: Coast flooding, hazardous beach conditions expected on Christmas Day

Minor coastal flooding is expected to occur on Christmas morning along the San Francisco Bay and North Bay shorelines, according to an alert issued by the National Weather Service.

Flooding could occur between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday with high tide happening at 9:26 a.m. Low-lying and flood-prone spots along the San Francisco Bay are the most likely to be effected.

The National Weather Service has also issued an alert for hazardous beach conditions on Monday. 10 to 12 foot waves with an increased risk of sneaker waves are expected along the coastal Bay Area, Monterey Bay region and the Big Sur coast between 1 a.m. and 7 p.m.
